This Privacy Policy explains how FoodHaul ("FoodHaul," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the FoodHaul mobile app and website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Apple (or another supported provider), we receive your name and email address (or a private relay email if you choose to hide it) and a unique account identifier.

Content you create. Photos, videos, captions, tags, place names, locations, boards, comments, and reviews you add to the Service.

Usage and device data. Basic app activity (such as posts viewed or saved), device type, operating system, app version, and diagnostic or crash data.

Location. If you add a place to a post, we store the location you selected. We do not track your precise background location.

2. How we use information

We use information to operate and provide the Service; to display your feed, boards, and posts; to enable saving, comments, and reviews; to maintain security and prevent abuse; to respond to support requests; and to improve the Service. We may send you service-related communications.

3. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers that help us run the Service, including Google Firebase (authentication and database) and Cloudflare (media hosting and delivery). We may disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights and safety of users and the public. Content you post publicly (such as posts, comments, and reviews) is visible to others using the Service and on the web.

4. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account or content, we remove or de-identify the associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your choices and rights

You can edit or delete your posts, comments, and reviews at any time. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you can delete your account from within the app (or by contacting us). Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA; contact us to exercise them.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Third-party services and links

The Service may link to third-party websites or embed third-party content (for example, restaurant websites or social media). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
